However, the duration of treatment can be prolonged since cardiology and cardiac surgery departments are often confused. In order to eliminate this confusion and to not prolong the treatment process, it is necessary to be able to distinguish the characteristics of cardiology department from cardiac surgery department.<\/p>\n<p>Although the areas of interest in cardiac surgery and cardiology departments are quite similar, they are separate branches of medicine since the treatment methods offered to the patient are different.<\/p>\n<p>As the symptoms of heart disorders begin to appear, the patient should be examined in the cardiology department first.<\/p>\n<p>If this examination indicates a disease that is unlikely to be treated or controlled by drugs, the patient is directed to the cardiac surgery department for surgical treatment. The patient&#8217;s situation and the health risk he carries continue to be monitored by cardiologists even after the patient is directed to the department of cardiac surgery.
