Considered one of the best spine surgeons in the world, Azmi Hamzaoğlu graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of medicine in 1979 and started his specialization in Istanbul University Istanbul Medical Faculty orthopedics and traumatology department in the same year. He became orthopedics and traumatology specialist in 1983, associate professor in 1989 and then professor in 1996.

He worked at Istanbul University Faculty of medicine, department of orthopedics and traumatology until 2004.

He worked for two years in the us minnesota spine surgery center, which is considered the best in the world in spine surgery.

In 1991, he went to Japan and continued his studies in the field of spine surgery at the university of Hokkaido.

After 2003, Florence Nightingale Hospital and the orthopedic clinic, both founded Turkey’s first spine surgery center.

Working with a team of 40 people in total and performing training operations in some difficult cases abroad, Azmi Hamzaoğlu is the founder of ‘Istanbul scoliosis and spine center’ and Florence Nightingale Hospital orthopedics and traumatology department chief.
