He received the title of Associate Professor of Urology in January 2011 and Professor in October 2016.

Prof. dr. Akpınar performed the first robotic colovesical fistula repair operation in the world in 2011 and presented it at the World Endourology Congress.

In the 10-year period between 2005 and 2015, he performed more than 380 robotic urological operations such as radical prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy, pyeloplasty, and sacrocolpopexy as a console or bedside surgeon. Working at Group Florence Nightingale Hospitals since 1997, Dr. Haluk Akpınar, MD has also been contributing to the Sheikh Ahmed El Sabah Urology Center in Kuwait City since 2014 as an instructor robotic surgeon.

Since 2012, he has been the General Secretary of the Minimally Invasive Urology Association, and since 2014, he has been a Board Member of the Northern Marmara Branch of the Urological Surgery Association.

He is married and has two children. Haluk Akpınar, MD has written 43 articles, 7 book chapters, 23 of which are in SCI foreign journals, and made 124 scientific presentations, 51 of which are international. He has received 7 national and international awards for this work.
